Mission Invisible

Intellexa

Oak Farm Barn, the setting for a truly imaginative custom installation (CI) by Intellexa, is a newly built, 5,000 sq ft property featuring a huge open plan ground floor with bedrooms and bathrooms on the first floor. The living area has a double height atrium with roof windows and the home is decorated in a ‘contemporary chic’ style throughout.

The CI project is just as impressive as the property itself - full audio and video distribution from source equipment housed out-of-sight, intelligent lighting, automated blinds, security cameras and access control – not to mention the most important requirement for today’s family - full MP3/iPod connectivity and control.

Intellexa was approached by the client with plans to convert the existing farm building into a family home. Alongside this, the owner wanted to incorporate whole house custom installation including a home cinema that would have to be discreetly integrated into the living space. In fact throughout the property, any speakers and screens had to complement the overall décor and in areas such as the living / cinema room had to be completely hidden from view. The solution was found in plaster-in-wall speakers to the left, centre & right of the projection wall. The projector was then hidden in the ceiling. The clients, their friends and family are astonished to enjoy the latest movies sitting in a family room, experiencing the most amazing sound coming from, seemingly, nowhere! It has proved a real hit.

Amy Edmonson, Creative Director at Intellexa concludes:  “Our client’s wife was extremely concerned as to whether she would be able to use the system or not and was amazed by how simple it was to operate.  The day we left they were having a party that night and all the guests were blown away by the quality of the sound.  This was a wonderful project for Intellexa to get involved in as it utilizes all our specialist skills, including understanding our clients needs and interpreting this in our system design and product.”
