Crestron has expanded its Green Light® range with the DIN-1DIM4, a cost-effective DIN rail mounted lighting control module with four channels of dimming. Available soon, the DIN rail form factor is highly efficient, requiring only a fraction of the space of a traditional equipment rack and Crestron DIN rail modules are easily accessible from the front of the enclosure.
DIN rail systems are custom configurable and extremely easy to install: modules simply snap onto the DIN rail in the cabinet - no tools are required - and connections are made simply using Phoenix-style connectors.
"The wide variety of DIN rail modules offered by Crestron are ideal for space-limited applications, such as boardrooms, offices, home theatres, MDUs and yachts," said Robin van Meeuwen, Managing Director at Crestron UK.
A single DIN-1DIM4 supports 120V, 230V and 277V magnetic low-voltage, incandescent, neon/cold cathode, 2-wire dimmable fluorescent, non-dimmable lighting loads and forward-phase-compatible electronic low-voltage up to 5 Amps per channel, 10 Amps total. Crestron-exclusive zero cross filter technology provides superior immunity to noise on the power line, reducing lamp flicker and compensating for fluctuations in line voltage and frequency.
When all four channels are turned fully off, the internal master relay automatically opens to allow safe servicing and changing of light bulbs on all four controlled circuits. An override input is provided to momentarily overrule the control system program; levels can be adjusted and saved locally from the front panel or remotely via software. The DIN-1DIM4 communicates with a DIN-AP2 Automation Processor, or other Crestron 2-Series control system via the Cresnet control network. A pair of Cresnet ports is provided on the DIN-1DIM4 allowing for easy daisy-chaining of several DIN Rail Series automation control modules.
